Early in my career, I worked as a certified accountant for a government agency (bet you didn’t know that about me!), I was offered a role that was at least 3 times higher than the role I was doing at the time.
I was surprised when Ernst and Young, the auditing company, recommended me to a multinational client of theirs that was expanding to the Middle East and was looking for a country leader to lead their brand-new team.
When I asked to understand how come I was considered for this position without even applying for it, the partner in the auditing company told me this, and it stayed with me:
‘Hala, you interview every day for your next job, you’ve been the liaison for your company with our auditing team for 2 years now. We know who you are and what kind of leader you are. The application won’t tell us anything we don’t already know.’
It got me thinking of how we tend to overcomplicate our path to the next level of success we want.
We ‘think’ our way to it.
While we attract our next level of growth when we already embody it.
When we become it.
That’s the law of attraction I believe in.
It is divine intervention that brings your desires to life, but only after you’ve shown that you are ready for it.
